Home Project- Why did I DIY

Happy Wednesday lovelies! I hope you all are having a great week so far! If you follow me on Instagram then you are pretty up to date on all of the house work we completed this past month!

So here is an update on what we have accomplished in the past couple of weeks. Our living room and dining room no longer have moving boxes occupying the space! This alone was a huge accomplishment for us, those boxes were making it impossible to finally get things moving.

Our backyard has been transformed into all brick. There were some flower beds in the backyard that took up about a third of the “yard” space. Aaron really wanted to make it all brick so there was room for people to hangout, play cornhole and not feel cramped. Here are some before pictures of the space:

And here is the after work! We are so happy and Aaron’s brother Ryan did an amazing job! It took him a total of 13 hours, if you are in the Columbus area and in need of landscaping work let me know and I’ll send you over his information. We were beyond thrilled to have this extra space for our guests during the house warming party.

Here are the after photos:

I suddenly decided to repaint two large furniture pieces “just because” this past weekend. I really need to start prioritizing my to-do list better. But y’all, how great did they turn out?!

Before the DIY took place.
After! Love how much the light grey paint brightened up this piece.
We found this piece at a thrift store up the road. I wish I would have take a before picture….but failed.

I’ll never underestimate what people say it takes to get a house together. It’s been such a long process, mostly because I want everything done immediately and there is just not enough time in a day for that. But I’m starting to love the process and mixing pieces together! There is still a ways to go, but for now we’re taking a breather and enjoying the new neighborhood.

I’m still working on making the house “aesthetically pleasing” so more pictures will come soon! I promise!

These have been the biggest and best home purchases so far:

    1. Thanks love! It actually came with the house, such a steal! But I know Target, Wayfair and Overstock have some similar ones 🙂
