Sunday Funday

Where did the weekend go?! I feel like one second it was Friday and the next it was Sunday morning. If someone could invent a way to freeze time on the weekends I would be forever grateful!

This weekend was a weird one for me… let’s start by pointing out that I almost adopted a puppy. I have been wanting one for awhile now, but it has never been the right timing. Well Saturday I made the bad decision of visiting the Atlanta Animal Shelter. I walked in and completely fell in love with this beautiful mixed pup. He was so sweet, laid back and made my heart completely stop. After holding him for over two hours I had an interview with the adoption counselor. Which was very awkward and made me feel as though I was about to adopt a crazy dog. The manager told me she would put the dog on an adoption hold until 6pm on Sunday. I woke up this morning and could not get that little pup out of my head. After spending a solid three hours on the phone between my mom and Aaron I decided this was not the best choice for me. Everyone was completely supportive of the decision and yet I was still hesitant. Which made it pretty clear that I should not embark down this road. So I called the shelter and the manager said the following:

“You just made a couple’s day today. A husband and wife arrived at the shelter about thirty minutes ago and feel in love with the puppy. They already filled out all the paperwork and were going to wait here until 6pm to see if you were going to come. I am sorry you are not adopting him, but please know he is about to go to an amazing home today.”

Well because I am too emotional when it comes to dogs I naturally started crying out of happiness. So after a completely irrational cry, I realized that I had spent the majority of my morning stressing out over nothing. Which seems to be how it goes sometimes in life.
