TRAVEL GUIDE: Marseille, France

TRAVEL GUIDE: Marseille, France

Did you see the last Travel Guide?

Happy Tuesday babes! I’m so excited to keep this travel guide series going. Our honeymoon has been amazing and I can’t believe we head back to the states in 5 days! Just like our honeymoon, these guides will keep getting better and better. So let’s jump right into Marseille, France!

I had zero expectations going into Marseille and really France in general. This was my first time in France and I really wasn’t sure what to expect. In my mind, France always meant Paris.

WHERE DID WE STAY?

Aaron booked us a very original and authentic Airbnb right in the city center. There was no AC, and one single fan in the bedroom. Now, if y’all know anything about me you know I’m not that kind of traveler. But with a month long honeymoon, comes the need for compromise. In one word, our Airbnb was: HOT. The hardest part about this trip was the lack of sleep. We walked around so much during the day that all I wanted to do was collapse once we got back. But it was too hot to fully relax and the sleep was limited.

It was really nice having a fridge and kitchen to cook our breakfast in! Made it feel a little more homey and relaxing.

WHAT DID WE DO

Our time in Marseille consisted of walking, getting lost in the city and visiting all of the top sights. There really is nothing bad to do in Marseilles and every side street was a new beautiful adventure.

WHAT DID WE EAT

Pizza, coffee, croissants, ham & cheese sandwiches (they’re unreal in France, I don’t know what they’re doing different but I’m a fan) and so much cheese

WHAT WOULD WE DO DIFFERENT

Stay in a hotel. That’s really the only thing I would do different. Or I would only go back in the winter since it’s supposed to be cooler.

WOULD WE GO BACK

I would definitely go back for a day. There isn’t a whole lot you can’t see within 24hrs. But there really is nothing quite like, having a coffee on a side street in Marseille.

Have you been to France before? If so, I’d love to hear about your favorite spots!

XOXO
