Flipping the Cottage – Kitchen & Basement Transformation

Happy Friday babes! I’m so excited to share our major home flip with y’all! A few I shared our living room project with Layered Collective. You can find it here! When we first moved into our house, we knew that painting the entire house was a must. But I had no idea this flip would take on a new life of its own!

KITCHEN

Our kitchen was a little wild when we first moved in. You know how they say less is more? Well this kitchen needed a whole lot less.

AFTER

It’s amazing what two small changes can do for a room! We decided to change out the backsplash to white subway tile, and to replace the hardware to a thinner gold handle.

BASEMENT

So, I completely failed at taking photos of our basement before it was gutted. But thanks to Zillow I was able to snag some from when the old owners lived here!

We ran into a little snag during the gutting process. You never know what you’ll find under some old carpet, but we did not expect to find all this tile. Instead of taking a week to replace all the flooring, it was more like two weeks. Not bad considering all of the tiling they had to pull up!

And here we have our glorious after! Aaron picked out this grey flooring and I could not love it more! We decided to get rid of the carpet completely since Hazel’s doggy door is in the basement. This flooring will help eliminate any of the mud, water and mess that comes with having a dog. Also they’re super pretty, can’t hate on that!

Our mission for the rest of this month is to decorate the basement and create the ultimate man cave for Aaron. So stay tuned over on my Instastories for all the fun updates!

Next week I’ll be sharing my office and master bedroom remodel! I can not wait to share everything that we did in my office with the shelving design. It has really been amazing!
