Latest Obsession: Fiber Baby

Happy Wednesday lovelies! We’re so close to the weekend, I can smell it. Aaron and I are heading to Michigan for a quick weekend this Friday. My mom keeps telling me how it hasn’t stopped snowing since Sunday there, so pray we’re able to get back this Sunday. I want to share with you all something that has been rocking my nutrition world, fiber for weight loss.

My sister Sarah tried these fiber crackers a few years ago and naturally I turned up my nose. I wasn’t aware of all the benefits fiber supplies when it comes to maintaining and dropping the pounds. All I knew at the time was they tasted weird. Fast forward to November 2017 and you would think I’ve drank the fiber kool-aid. If you follow me on Instagram then you’re already aware of my fiber love.

HOW DOES FIBER FOR WEIGHT LOSS REALLY WORK?

When I started down this fiber journey I immediately started researching anything and everything fiber. Which brought me to the F-Factor. The F-Factor focuses on combining lean proteins with high-fiber carbohydrates, which are low in calories.  Okay, sounds great but what’s the catch? How is it possible to add fiber to your diet and suddenly start loosing weight? Well, unlike other diets that ask you to starve and cut out foods groups like carbs, the F-Factor Diet is a nutritionally sound approach to eating for life that gives you more choices, not fewer.

By eating more fiber, you will lose weight safely, steadily and naturally, and naturally improve your health and overall well-being.  And you’ll do this while eating the carbs you love, dining out and drinking alcohol, and spending a lot less time working out.”

FIBER: THE “MIRACLE CARB” FOR WEIGHT LOSS

Fiber is the zero-calorie, non-digestible part of a carbohydrate that adds bulk to food. When you follow a diet rich in fiber you feel full after eating – so you’ll generally eat less throughout the day. Also, fiber swells in the stomach, absorbs and removes fat and calories, and boosts metabolism.

 

HOW HAS FIBER CHANGED MY OUTLOOK ON DIETING 

I’ve always had the mentality that dieting involved giving up everything I enjoyed and not leaving my house. When I started incorporating fiber and the F-Factor into my everyday life the weight has started to fall off easily. I’m not starving, I’m still enjoying social outings with friends and the best part- I no longer feel any guilt!

 

Here’s what a typical day looks like: 

Breakfast– 3 GG Crackers, 2 scrambled eggs and a side of turkey bacon.

Lunch: either a huge salad with lean protein (grilled chicken) OR my skillet mixture of asparagus, brussel sprouts, peppers, onion, kielbasa and chia seeds sprinkled on top.

Snack: 4 GG Pizzas

Dinner: my choice! This typically involves chicken, veggies and a carb. Nothing crazy during the week since I like to keep cooking dinner short and sweet.

** I chug water like it is my job throughout the day. Water is SO important when you’re on a high fiber diet. **

 

I can honestly say that I don’t crave a “2nd dinner” around 9pm anymore. I don’t feel the need to snack and I truly feel better than I did a month ago!
