Shredding for The Wedding- Oh it burns!
Happy Friday loves! Today, I’m sharing my first fitness update with you all. I’m calling this new series, Shredding for The Wedding! I’ll be updating you all every 2 weeks on how the progress is going. I was originally thinking once a week, but since we are officially 6 months out from the wedding, I don’t want to overwhelm you with 24 posts. Last week I went and had my measurements taken, let me tell you that was a wake up call! I feel like it’s easy to get caught up in the craziness of life, and let your health slide.
All of my workouts are being written by Kathie Brown at Victory Fitness Center. I’ve known Kathie since I was eight years old, and she is literally the walking image of fitness! I am excited to start this journey with her and share it all with you! Each week I will workout 3-4 times, which is easy to fit into my morning and not an overwhelming amount either.
I’ll be sharing my measurements with you all next week! I wanted to have a 2 week progression/update available. And since this is officially the second week, I won’t have those until next Wednesday. I will say though, having those measurements taken last week was a real eye opener. It’s amazing how much you are able to convince yourself not much has changed, until you see the numbers.
WORKOUT DETAILS
For my workouts, they’ve all been a little different. Last week I had two different workouts that focused on completing a circuit for time. Day one wasn’t too bad, but the rowing machine GOT ME GOOD on day two.
Tuesday’s workout involved 100 burpees… I was so afraid I wouldn’t be able to finish them all. But it’s amazing what your body can accomplish when you push through the mental wall. Wednesday morning was a timed workout involving squats and burpees. I honestly was so exhausted after 18 mins it was insane. Who knew working out for less than 30 mins could actually be harder than some of the hour workouts I used to do. Friday morning’s workout will be a heavy deadlift session, so I’ll make sure to post parts of it over on my Instagram Stories!
This morning’s (Friday) workout started with a deadlift session and ended with a circuit for the Westerville officers who were shot in the line of duty last Saturday.
Workout:
54 ball walls
10 deadlifts
25 lateral burpees
16 cal bike
39 Kettlebell swings
4 pull ups
HOW IS MY BODY FEELING
I’m sore. Like everything is sore. But I am feeling stronger than last week in small little ways. I’m still not as strong as I would like to be, or anywhere close. The biggest thing has been that I’m not dreading working out. I’m looking forward to that after workout high and it’s been motivating me to accomplish more throughout the day.
I’m excited to see how I’m feeling next month and the month after. I’ll be taking at least one video each week, not only to share with y’all but to see my progression over the next 6 months. Well we’re off to Kentucky for the weekend! I’d love to hear some of your tips for slimming down in the comments below!
XOXO,
Emily
Love this post!! It is motivating me!! I need to get back to the circuit workouts and not just the treadmill and abs!
Yay! I’m so glad you liked it! Circuits are where it is at! I was doing cardio as well, and this week the workouts were shorter and burned so much. But that good kind of burn hahah. I’m excited to share more video next week! I feel like that always helps to incorporate the workouts into your routine as well!
