Wedding Wednesday – The Dream Venue

Dream Outdoor Wedding Venue

Happy Wednesday babes! You probably saw on Instagram, that we got our wedding photos back last week and I’ve been dying over them! We always talk about the dress, the flowers and the small details when it comes to a wedding. But today, I want to share our venue with you! If you’re a local Ohio bride to be, I highly suggest reaching out to Irongate for your wedding. We loved everything they had to offer and our wedding was an absolute dream!

I had the most amazing florist, for our wedding. Katie, from Old Slate Farm has actually been a lifelong friend. So when it came time for our big day, there was NO doubt in my mind that I would have her supply the flowers! She did everything from the floral arrangements to the tablescapes. Seriously, one day I will have her come over to my house and design it all. She is that amazing!

Our cake was from Short North Piece of cake, the OSU vs Michigan cake was a hit with all of our guests!

Neither Aaron or I wanted to see one another before the wedding. All of the venues we had looked at, really made it impossible for this to happen, which is why we fell in love with Irongate. They had separate levels for the bridal party and groomsmen. Not only were there separate levels, each level had it’s own bar and dressing rooms.

Having an outdoor wedding was a must on both of our lists. I know what you’re thinking, an outdoor wedding in August… y’all are crazy! Our original dream was to have an October wedding, but we soon learned that wedding venues sell out FAST. And we were behind when it came to picking a venue since we only had 8 months between getting engaged and married. Thankfully Irongate had a Sunday open in August, so we immediately snagged it!

Some of you may know this, but majority probably do not. I grew up riding horses competitively, so having our wedding surrounded by horses was kind of a dream. I did not realize that we would have the opportunity to go take photos inside of the pastures at sunset. But man, was that an amazing way to end our wedding day.

I can not wait to share more about our wedding with y’all next week! I’d love to hear what you would like to read next: how I found my bridesmaids dresses or 10 things I wish I would have known before our wedding day.

XOXO
